Strategic Planning

CT Strategies works closely with clients to develop strategic plans that align with their vision and goals. The goal of Strategic Planning is to set the direction for the organization, or for an specific initiative. Creating a Strategic Plan includes the following steps:

  1. Understanding the organization’s current role/position: The goal of this process is to determine where your organization stands within your environment. Some techniques that will help in this step include:
    a. SWOT Analysis
    b. Focus Groups/Interviews
    c. Stakeholder Surveys
    d. Comparative Analysis/Benchmarking
    e. Customer Journey Mapping
  2. Setting priorities and goals: Prioritization is necessary in the Strategic Planning process. Too many priorities will lead to resources being spread too thin to accomplish goals or staff burnout with too many changes happening at once. Working with leadership using prioritization exercises CT Strategies will help your organization identify an appropriate number of priorities for the organization size and resources. Then, using the benchmarking information collected in the previous step, goals will be established for each priority.
  3. Developing a Strategic Plan: For some consultants, Strategic Planning stops after the priority and goal setting stage, but that’s not a plan, it’s a list of goals and objectives. This stage is where the planning happens, where specific projects and initiatives are identified to meet your organization’s goals. It is also the stage where timelines and responsibilities are assigned to each plan.
